In Lubbock, Hope Community of Shalom takes up residence in the Asbury United Methodist Church building and supports many ministries out of that building including Fiesta Domingo. Fiesta Domingo is a Sunday afternoon experience which provides a warm meal and food assistance to those in need.

Pray Lubbock works to create an atmosphere for revival and an environment for the advancement of the Kingdom of God in Lubbock. Pray Lubbock provides prayer support for Lubbock, uniting pastors, congregations, prayer leaders, and prayer partners. Their chief aim is to increase the volume, intensity, and frequency of prayer for our community by praying for schools, businesses, congregations, families, and governments.

The Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) offers 12-week programs where any woman, 18 or older, can receive training that helps women learn about career callings, developing study habits and grow in their relationship with God. These classes are perfect for teaching each woman how God designed them for a certain career and for helping them develop habits of studying and writing papers. The classes serve in preparation for the ACCUPLACER Test for college entrance or the GED test.

Living Abundantly Ministries is a Christ-centered, culturally relevant ministry which provides gospel filled programs to economically disadvantaged children in elementary and middle school to help them grow spiritually, physically, interpersonally, and intellectually. Their programs include sports camps, after school activities, and mentoring opportunities.

The Bridge works to restore hope by empowering at-risk teens and their families in East Lubbock. They bring community agencies and ministries together under one roof and promote the sharing of resources to more efficiently meet the needs of those served.

Backyard Mission www.backyardmission.org

Backyard Mission is a local home repair ministry, serving the low-income and elderly. They address repairs that help get the home “warm and dry”. BYM receives referrals and the homeowner’s age, income, value of the home, number of people living in the home, and the repairs requested are all used to evaluate the application received. The work is done free by volunteers when possible and professionals are paid when necessary. Materials are purchased with donated funds.

International Students, Inc. (ISI) in Southern California seeks to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of international students, scholars, and their families in the context of genuine and unconditional hospitality and friendship. ISI is a non-profit Christian friendship organization. Religious beliefs are never forced on a student and friendship and assistance are offered unconditionally. If students are not interested in Christianity, they receive the same care and help as those who are interested.

Ray and Lydia Zirkel http://zirkelministrycostarica.com

Ray and Lydia Zirkel are missionaries serving the Methodist Church in San Jose, Costa Rica. Ray is an ordained elder in the Methodist Church and serves as a professor at the Evangelical Methodist Seminary. In addition, Ray is a member of the Board of Directors of the Methodist High School and Elementary School; and, he helps to plant and develop local congregations. Ray and Lydia are currently working with the child welfare agency and the Methodist Church to build a children’s home in San José. They host 20 to 25 short-term Missionary Teams each year who work on a variety of church related projects.

They transform lives in the impoverished communities by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the people. OMEGA is an acronym which stands for Outreach Missions Empowering Grassroots Action. OMEGA provides cross-cultural experiences for individuals, churches, and university groups to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ with their time, talent, and resources. OMEGA works to help American churches in their transformation as well as in the transformation of the people of Tanzania.

Omega Missions Project Managers, Ed and Debra Lloyd were long-time residents of Lubbock, Texas. After participating in the first Omega mission trip in 2005, Ed knew he would return to work in Tanzania for an extended period. He returned in 2006 and worked on several projects in Moshi and Babati. Later that year, Ed and Debra made the decision to sell their possessions and both move and work in Tanzania on a full-time basis. Ed has a wide variety of skills which have proven to be an asset working on different projects. Debra has experience as an accountant and manager; however her passion lies in building relationships with the people of Tanzania and hosting Omega teams. The Lloyd’s make all preparations prior to a team/volunteer’s arrival in Tanzania and facilitate the visit from arrival to departure. Between hosting Omega teams, they are fulfilling God’s call to work alongside the Tanzanians through water projects. Ed and Debra can be contacted, in Tanzania, at lloyds@omegamission.org

Orphaned, abandoned and abused children have found a refuge and safe haven at New Life Children's Home in Guatemala. NLCH is truly a “home” for these needy children, where their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are addressed. Special attention is given to introducing them to Jesus Christ, nurturing and discipling them in a relationship with him, and providing each child with a sound academic Christian education.

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Christians of all ages, races, and nationalities from just about every sort of background you can imagine. To date there are approximately 17,000 full-time missionaries working at over 1,100 locations. United in our common goal, we have set out to the ends of the earth to know God and make Him known. Kurt and Logan Hurst serve with YWAM in Tyler, Texas where they are involved in health care, relief work, English courses, drama, and more as they seek to make God known.
