Student Ministry

Sylas has been the Student Pastor at AUMC since April of 2010. He has previously served at Robert Lee Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Eldorado, TX for 81/2 years before coming to Lubbock. A graduate of Lubbock Cooper High School Sylas returns to Aldersgate after having attended as a student himself. He came to know Jesus in the summer of 1998 and has sought to know Him more and more ever since. He is passionate about leading students in a way that causes them to make much of Jesus and less of themselves. He and his wife Shea have been married since December of 2001. They have 3 boys: Jacob, Ty and Kyle. In his free time, he enjoys a good pick-up game of basketball or football, playing the Wii/getting beat at the Wii by his boys and watching a good movie.
