What we believe...

Aldersgate is part of the United Methodist Church. This means we are accountable and connected to something larger than just our own congregation. In combination with other Methodist churches, we help support the work of the whole church worldwide and in our own region. Our own local statement of faith is pretty simple:

• There is one true God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• All people are sinners and our sin separates us from having a personal relationship with God.
• The only way to restore our walk with God is through a personal relationship with His Son Jesus.
• Jesus is God in the flesh who gave Himself as a sacrifice for our sins in His death on the cross.
• When we invite Jesus into our lives we are forgiven of all sin and filled with the Holy Spirit to live daily in God's power.
• God's church consists of all believers who have a relationship with Him through Jesus.
• There are eternal consequences for the choices we make in this life with those accepting Jesus enjoying eternity in heaven with God and those rejecting Jesus spending eternity in hell separated from God.
• The Bible is God's Word. It is relevant to our lives today and reveals God's will for our beliefs and actions.
• All Christians are filled with God's Holy Spirit who empowers us with the character of Jesus ad gifts for ministry.
